Head of the Budget Sector at the Ministry of Finance Mohamed el Sobky said international foundations, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, have praised the Egyptian expertise in applying the system of performance-based budgeting in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning, Follow-up and Administrative Reform and the parliament's committee of planning and budgets.
This came in a statement released by the Finance Ministry to mark the conclusion of a national program on building the capabilities of employees through the application of program and performance budgeting. The program included a number of workshops that were organized through cooperation with the US Assistance and International Development (USAID). In the statement, Sobky said as many as 1,700 employees of the state's bodies are ready for implementing the program and performance budgeting as they have received training on several axes including, measuring of the governmental performance, basics for rational decision making, systems of follow-up as well as performance measurement indicators. He asserted that the program comes in line with the Egyptian government development plan for 2030. |
