Planning Minister Hala el Saeid said the government continues to pums further public investments in new projects, as the public investments increased by 70% to reach EGP 595 billion.
Saeid was delivering a speech during Egypt's week forum, co-organized by the UK Department for International Trade Egypt, British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA), the Egyptian Embassy in the UK, and Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce. Saied noted that the coronavirus crisis prompted the government to rearrange its priorities and focus more on specifc sectors like education, health, communications, agriculture, infrastructure, industry, and green economy. The minister pointed to the government's keenness to support irregular labor. The government adopted a proactive strategy to deal with the virus, taking all the required measures to relieve the negative repercussions on the most vulnerable segments of the population, she underlined. From February 24 till now, the government issued 412 ldecisions, which are being implemented by 70 institutions, targeting all social categories, she added. |
