Chaired by H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the Ministerial Development Council held its meeting today, Wednesday 1st June, 2022, at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting discussed a number of initiatives and legislations aiming to support the economic and governmental work ecosystem, and strengthen its continuous development to meet the future requirements. The meeting agenda discussed the performance of the industrial sector in the country, the challenges facing this sector, and the possibilities and initiatives that enhance the development of the industrial sector and its contribution to increasing the Gross Domestic Product and stimulating the national economy. The council also discussed the amendment of a number of federal legislations regulating the transfer and transplantation of human organs and tissues in accordance with international best practices. In addition to discussing legislations related to regulating work relations with domestic workers, and amending provisions related to the legislation of the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA). The meeting witnessed discussions about several federal decisions and regulations, including the draft executive regulations for the Law of Commercial Register to activate the linking of the commercial registry with the licensing authorities to the economic registry, the system for collecting federal government revenues, and decisions related to the Emirati Cadres Competitiveness Council (ECCC). Also, the council reviewed the results of the government entities’ implementation of the UAE's National Cybersecurity standards, in addition to mechanisms needed to develop the digital system in the government and accelerating the transformation of the federal Government services into digital services. The discussions included reviewing several standards for the governance of exchange and investment in projects, assets and digital infrastructure. In addition, the council reviewed the results of the performance of the Emirates Development Bank (EDB), until the first quarter of 2022, as well as a number of government work reports for the year 2021, and the first quarter of 2022. |
