Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli hailed Egypt’s new ranking in the 2021-2022 Human Development Report (HDR) issued by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
Egypt came in the 97th position up from the 116th in the 2020 report. The report this year is published under the title “Uncertain Times, Unsettled Lives: Shaping our Future in a Transforming World”. Madbouli said that Egypt’s advance in the new report came after a hike in the human development index in most of the sub-indicators especially those of knowledge and gross national income per capita. He added that the data in the report is linked to a number of Egypt’s sustainable development goals including good education, economic growth and appropriate jobs. The premier said that such positive ranking came after great efforts exerted by the Egyptian state to implement a number of unprecedented national projects to provide betters services to citizens. This comes under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Madbouli noted, to meet citizens’ aspirations and enhance livelihoods nationwide. |
