Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli directed governors to carry on with efforts aimed at providing various food commodities in markets in appropriate quantities and affordable prices, especially with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan.
Madbouli's directives came as he chaired a meeting of the Council of Governors in the New Administrative Capital. The meeting was also attended by Supply and Internal Trade Minister Ali Moselhi, Health and Population Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Planning and Economic.. Development Minister Hala el Saeed, Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad and Local Development Minister Hisham Amna. The premier praised the governors' efforts in facilitating procedures for setting up markets and outlets that sell goods at reasonable prices. The prime minister stressed the importance of increasing control and inspection campaigns on markets, including the 550 government-run outlets and fairs nationwide. He called on the governors to follow up on the provision of food staples and continuously communicate with the ministers concerned to supply additional quantities of commodities in the governorates where consumption is high. |
