Egypt's exports to France went up 61 percent in 2022, hitting 1.8 billion dollars, up from 1.1 billion dollars the year before.
Data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed that the value of Egyptian imports from France rose 19.2 percent in 2022, recording 2.2 billion dollars, up from 1.8 billion dollars the year before. The value of trade exchange between Egypt and France 3.9 billion dollars last year compared with 2.9 billion dollars in 2021, which is a 35-percent increase, according to CAPMAS. Data indicated that the value of French investments in Egypt increased by a whopping 99.3 percent during the fiscal year 2021-2022, hitting 550.6 million dollars against 276.2 million dollars the year before. Remittances from Egyptians working in France amounted to 120 million dollars during the fiscal year 2021-2022, down from 126.1 the year before, which is a 4.8-percent drop. Meanwhile, remittances from French people working in Egypt declined by 22.5 percent during the fiscal year 2021-2022, registering 8.3 million dollars, down from 10.7 million dollars in the year before. |
