Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah Eddin met with Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Korobchenko is leading a delegation comprising representatives of government bodies and industrial firms. During the meeting, Salah Eddin outlined the technical, technological and manufacturing capabilities of military production companies, noting that the primary role of the ministry is to serve the needs of the Armed Forces for weapons and ammunition. He also referred to his ministry’s contribution to national development projects and the manufacture of a variety of products for civilian use. Salah Eddin said his ministry is keen to exchange expertise with Tatarstan in order to localise modern manufacturing technology. He invited companies of the Republic of Tatarstan companies to participate in the next Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX). There are promising investment opportunities in Egypt for Tatarstan companies in light of the free trade agreements that Egypt has with a number of African and Arab countries, allowing Tatarstan products access to African and Middle Eastern markets. For his part, Korobchenko expressed interest of many Tatarstan companies in operating in manufacturing so as to further co-operation with Egyptian companies. Korobchenko described Egypt as “influential” at regional and international levels. Tatarstan, a republic of the Russian Federation, is experiencing high growth, thanks to its manufacture of agricultural equipment, vehicles, petrochemicals, medicines and helicopters, Korobchenko said. |
