Egypt’s Finance Minister Mohamed Maait met with his Iranian counterpart Ehsan Khandouzi Tuesday to discuss means of boosting economic co-operation with Tehran in a way that would help attract more investments to Egypt.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), currently held in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm El Sheikh. Maaiit underlined mutual interest to upgrade joint projects between Egypt and Iran, especially in the fields of maritime transport and textile industry. Egypt has advanced, smart and green infrastructure that is capable of meeting all investment demands, Maait assured. He touched upon a favorable legislative environment and customs and tax incentives. For his part, Khandouzi said his country is looking forward to enhancing relations with Egypt in all domains. Egypt is a partner with integrated infrastructure that enables it to receive further foreign investments in the coming stage, Khandouzi said. |
