Egyptian Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah-Eddin Moustafa met on Tuesday 27 September, 2023 with Board Chairman of Green Tech Egypt Robert Valk, a member of Renergy Group Partners coalition.
Moustafa said the meeting tackled the progress realized so far in establishing Egypt’s first solid waste treatment station to generate electricity. The station – to be located in Giza’s Abu Rawash district – aims at treating 1200 tons of waste per day to generate 30 megawatts of electricity per hour. The project is implemented under Renergy Group Partners coalition – comprising the Ministry of Military Production, Green Tech Egypt and OAK Holding. He said this project will have a great positive impact on citizens and national economy, stressing keenness on following up on the project. Meanwhile, Valk reviewed the executive measures for implementing the project, hailing the efforts exerted by Egypt to expand projects for diversifying energy resources, especially clean and renewable energy, promoting the role of the private sector in waste management mechanism. He expounded that this contributes to enhancing climate security in Egypt and improving people’s living conditions. The ministry’s spokesman Mohamed Eid Bakr asserted that the ministry is keen on participating in various national projects contributing to supporting sustainable and comprehensive development. |
