Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli asserted there are presidential directives to continue work to attain self-sufficiency and strengthen and localize different industries, with special focus on modern pharmaceutical industries.
Madbouli added the government is ready for offering all forms of possible support to reduce imports and scale up exports. The Premier's remarks came at an inspection tour of a number of factories in the cities of el Obour and 10th of Ramadan. Madbouli inaugurated the Jamjoom Pharma-Egypt Factory for pharmaceutical industries, in presence of Chairman of Egyptian Drug Authority Tamer Essam. Essam said the authority is always keen on implementing presidential directives to localize the drug industry and provide locally active raw materials. He said the authority is offering all technical and procedural support to the factory in the different establishment, manufacture and production stages. The factory is playing an important role in deepening medication industry and luring more direct investments into the Egyptian pharmaceutical market to turn Egypt into a gateway for the export of pharmaceutical cosmetics to the African continent and the Arab region and raise self-sufficiency rates as well as tapping new fields of exportation, according to him. The factory is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies used in the manufacture operations. The production rate is expected to reach about 120 million units annually by various production lines. |
