Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk said he is looking forward to restructuring the international tax system and cooperating to keep pace with the rapid growth of the digital economy in the world, so that the coming period will witness bigger and faster international movement.
This shall help lay the foundations for more equitable tax systems for developing countries and emerging economies, Kouchouk added during a G20 session. According to a press release by the Finance Ministry, during the session, titled "international tax cooperation", the minister stressed the need to develop the international tax frameworks, rules and standards to become more responsive to successive challenges, especially those related to collecting tax dues on digital transactions. "We are aware of all challenges, and we believe in the importance of international cooperation to overcome them and achieve tax equality among countries to ensure that they receive their fair shares," he noted. |
