Egyptian Rice exports reached L.E. 1 million

The Egyptian rice exports reached 1 million tons this year, beating the previous record of 750,000 tons. The main reason for this increase is due to the decrease in the consumption in the domestic market from 2.5 million tons to 2.2 million tons.

Syria is the major country importing the Egyptian rice; its total imports reached 170,000 tons, Turkey comes second with 115,000 tons, then Libya with110,000 tons, and Romania with 70,000 tons.

Total companies importing Egyptian rice this year are 74 companies from 64 countries.
