Gold Export to Canada Did Not Return

The amount of gold brought from al-Sokary mine is to be transferred to Canada for purification. It did not however return to Cairo Airport, said the head of commodities village of Cairo Airport, Hamdy al-Kady.

The large amount of gold was sent to Canada by air travel to be purified and to be provided with the world gold stamp, and yet it hasn’t returned to Egypt, al-Kady told Youm7. He added the officials did announce whether the gold would return by land or sea.

Al-Kady said there was a decision to ban the exporting of gold but the decision was cancelled, clarifying gold shipments are allowed to be transferred abroad. They have to be approved with authority of stamps by the authority of the metal wealth of the Ministry of Petroleum.

In the past few months, many gold shipments were sent out of Egypt through Cairo Airport to Canada.
