Egypt exported U.S. $124 million in products to Israel while Israel exported U.S. $49 million in products to Egypt since January 2011, according to a report by the Israeli Exports Institute. Tel Aviv exported textiles, foodstuffs, beverages and refined oil products, but not Israeli technological products, according to an Israeli newspaper that published the report.
"Despite the January 25 Revolution, the trading exchange between Egypt and Israel is significantly stable," said Gabi Bar, head of middle east exports in the Israeli Ministry of Industry and Agriculture. Bar said Egyptian official delegates, who are responsible for QIZ project between Egypt and Israel, met Israeli delegates and confirmed that trade and commerce cooperation continues between Egypt and Israel.
Trading between the countries went as follows:
• In 2004, Egypt exported U.S. $29 million in products and imported the same value in products.
• Israel imported U.S. $49 million in Egyptian products in 2005 and exported U.S. $94 million in products to Egypt.
• In 2006, Israel imported U.S. $77 million in products and exported U.S. $127 million in products to Egypt
• In 2007, Israel imported U.S. $94 million in Egyptian products and exported U.S. $154 million.
• In 2008, Israel imported U.S. $132 million in Egyptian products and exported U.S. $139 million.
• In 2009, Israel imported U.S. $271 million in Egyptian products and exported U.S. $135 million.
• In 2010, Israel imported U.S. $355 million in Egyptian products and exported U.S. $148 million.
In 2010, Egypt recorded its highest importing rate from Israel while Israel exports reached its climax in 2007 when it imported U.S. $154 million.
