Food Safety Committee by Ministry of Agriculture

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation released a decision to establish a national committee for health and phytosanitary measures in the ministry, headed by Director of the Agricultural Section Ali Soliman.

Phytosanitary measures ensure that exported agricultural goods are free of pests and disease. “The committee aims to set a full regime to control the markets through establishing legislation enabling them to deal with agriculture, pesticides and veterinary issues,” said Soliman.

He added that establishing a national committee aims to gain full control of Egyptian agricultural products, from the beginning of production until they arrive to the consumer.
