Egypt Exports from Readymade Clothes Hit the 1 Billion USD Barrier this Year

Egyptian exports of readymade clothes increased to one billion USD in 2005 after the activation of Qualified Industrial Zone protocol (QIZ). The percentage increase in exports is 21% from January 2005 till November 2005. It is expected that readymade clothes exports exceed the 1 billion USD barrier by the end of December 2005. Exports were 850 million USD in 2004. Readymade export next year is expected to reach 1.6 billion USD with an increase of 60% compared to 2005.13 foreign companies specialized in readymade cloths increased their investment in Egypt by 263% in 2005.
