Egyptian exports from clothes

In 2004 the Egyptian exports from clothes have increased by 4.5% in volume to reach 25,251 tons. Total clothes exports have reached L.E.1.54 billion in 2004, compared with L.E. 1.47 billion in 2003.

Most of the Egyptian exports were directed to the USA markets.
The export volume in 2003 was 22.4 thousand tons with a total value of L.E.1.3 billion.
In 2004 exports increased to reach 24.2 thousand tons with a total value of L.E.1.4 billion.
In other words the Egyptian exports from clothes did increase by 7.9%.
On the other hand Egyptian exports from clothes to the European market have decreased by 39.5% in quantity and by 18.5% in value. The average prices to these markets have reached L.E. 107.3 thousand per ton in 2004, compared to L.E. 79.7 thousand per ton in 2003.
