Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh received Azeri Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev in the presence of the ministers of industry and trade and planning and international cooperation. The Azeri minister said his visit to Jordan comes as a follow up on a meeting held by Prime Minister Awn Khasawneh and Azeri President Ilham Aliyev in Davos to discuss scopes of cooperation between the two countries. President Aliyev, he added, was keen to boost cooperation between the two countries in various fields. The Azeri minister highlighted the role and contribution of the exchanged visits between His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Azeri president in pushing bilateral ties forward.
Khasawneh for his part voiced Jordan's readiness to forge closer cooperation with Azerbaijan in various fields. He said that Jordan enjoys political stability an attractive investment climate despite economic challenges facing it. The premier expressed hope that Azerbaijan will contribute to a railway project that will link the region with Europe, adding the project will further promote regional cooperation.
