Egypt, Libya Seek Boosting Labor Cooperation

Minister of Manpower and Immigration Fathi Fikry on 22/03/2012 held talks with visiting Libyan Minister of Labor and Vocational Training Mostafa al-Rajbani on means of boosting labor cooperation. In statements after the meeting, Fikry noted that the current visit of the Libyan minister and his accompanying delegation is aimed at establishing the bases of joint cooperation in the labor domain.

For his part, the Libyan minister, in statements after meeting Prime Minister Dr. Kamal El-Ganzouri and Manpower Minister Fathi Fekri, said that a new job-placing system will be initiated through linking the two labor ministries in Egypt and Libya electronically with a view to meeting the needs of the Libyan labor market of Egyptian workers.

Meanwhile, he said that an agreement to revive the electronic linkage project between Egypt and Libya has been reached by which the Egyptian workers will receive legal working contracts from Libya. The contract will guarantee the rights of the workers and will help as well curb illegal migration.
