Bilateral Relations Between Egypt and Sudan

Prime Minister, Dr. Kamal Al-Ganzoury, received the Sudanese International Cooperation Minister who is currently visiting Egypt within the committee meetings to follow-up on it. He confirmed the Egyptian-Sudanese historical relations depth, and the necessity of supporting the economic, trade, investment and social fields. He expressed his ambition that the Egyptian-Sudanese Joint Supreme Council would have good result for both nations, describing Sudan as Egypt’s natural extension linked naturally, geographically and emotionally. < br>
The meeting reviewed issues to be discussed and offered in the supreme council that will be held in the near future, and will tackle all Egyptian-Sudanese cooperation aspects. The Planning Minister stated that Dr. Al-Ganzoury reviewed all main aspects in the economic cooperation fields, and procedures to be taken especially within the River Nile linkage between both countries. The meeting reviewed the strategic projects system between both countries where achievements were already accomplished including Sudanese meat importation, active fuel project, and land and river connection projects. It is worth noting that by the end of current year all joint roads projects will be completed, and points on joint roads are carried to help overcoming the trade exchange obstacles, along to strong cooperation in the health and education fields. Both governments are working to provide laws to facilitate obstacles before investors, the Planning Minister said, stating that the four freedom file between Egypt and Sudan is witnessing great progress, and such freedom is carried by 90%.

The Sudanese Minister described the meeting as positive where she carried greetings from the Sudanese President, government and nation to Egypt and leadership. She expressed the Sudanese solidarity and calls to Egypt for reaching political stability, renaissance and progress especially that Sudan aspires to see Egypt’s central role for Africa, Arab World, regionally and internationally. The guest stated that the meeting covered file being studied which achieve great progress in various fields including the agricultural one where number of agreements will be signed, along to the fish wealth and meat importation to Egypt. Egypt will continue supporting Sudan and its interest, the Planning Minister said, adding that disagreement between South and North must not change to struggle or war. As for the health sector, a decree was issued treating people of both countries as the original citizen, along to investment in the pharmaceutical field. The Sudanese Minister added that transport projects are one of the most important bilateral cooperation projects that would open cooperation fields.
