His Majesty King Abdullah II voiced pride in Jordanian-Kuwaiti ties and said he was keen to maintain closer cooperation with the Arab Gulf country in various fields for the interest of both countries. At a meeting with a Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation on Monday, the King reviewed developments and political changes in the Arab world, adding that challenges facing the Arab nation at this critical stage require activating joint Arab action in order to address these challenges. The King highlighted prospects for increasing economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, particularly that Kuwait ranks first among Arab countries investing in the Kingdom.
Jordan, he said, is keen to provide all necessary facilities to Kuwaiti investors, protect their investments and encouraging them to contribute to the implementation of mega projects in the energy, transport and water fields. At the meeting, which was attended by a number of top Jordanian officials as well as the Kuwaiti ambassador in Amman, His Majesty told the delegation that Jordan gives utmost attention and care to Kuwaitis in the Kingdom, mainly those studying at Jordanian universities. Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation of the King's interest to boost cooperation between the two countries. They also hailed the strong ties between Jordan and Kuwait in various fields. Kuwaiti investments in the Kingdom, which currently stand at $D10 billion, are concentrated in the fields of medical tourism, ICT, health and education. |
