Bilateral Foreign Trade between Egypt and South Korea

Bilateral foreign trade volume between Egypt and South Korea in 2011 was put at $ 2.4 billion with South Korean investments in Egypt put at $ 186 million. This was reported in the media quoting Mr. Adel Qenawi, Head of Egypt's Foreign Commercial Representation Agency, while addressing an annual forum, held this year in Cairo, on Egyptian South Korean Economic Cooperation Potential. On his side, South Korean Deputy Minister of Economy & Knowledge has assured that his government is keen to encourage South Korean companies to participate in strategic projects in Egypt particularly in fields related to renewable energy and water treatment among others.
