The Egyptian stock market was slightly up on 12/8/2012, the first trading day of the week after good news of Qatar's depositing $2 billion with the Central Bank of Egypt to support the Egyptian economy. The main benchmark EGX 30 index inched up 0.21 per cent to reach 4971.24 points. The broader EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) went up by 0.29 percent to 445.57 points.
