The Suez Canal on 23/08/2012 hit a record in terms of revenues that hit 19.6 million dollars or 120 million Egyptian pounds, said Head of the Suez Canal Authority, Mohab Memish. In press statements, Memish added that total shipments also hit a record of 3.57 million tons, the highest for the canal this year. The number of vessels crossing the waterway on Thursday reached 66, he added.
