Clinton Asserts US Support to Egyptian Economy

US State Secretary Hillary Clinton on 23/08/2012 phoned Egypt's Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr to assert the US desire to support economic recovery in Egypt, US State Department Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said. Nuland said the call dealt with the latest security situation in Sinai and the visit made by International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Christine Lagarde to Egypt. "They obviously talked about the situation in Sinai and the ongoing Egyptian security operation. They talked about the visit of IMF mission to Cairo and the United States' keenness in supporting the Egyptian economy.
