Bilateral Relations between Qatar and Yemen

Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah met with Yemen's Minister of Planning Dr. Mohammed al-Saadi. During the meeting, the Yemeni Minister of Planning praised Qatar's contributions in support of development paths and stability in his country and the Qatari leadership and government keenness on providing all aspects of political and economic support for Yemen.

He stressed the keenness of the Government of national reconciliation in Yemen to activate the role the Qatari-Yemeni Joint Ministerial Committee, which held its last session in December 2004 in Doha in a way that contributes to strengthening bilateral ties. For his part, HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah underlined Qatar's keenness on enhancing joint cooperation with Yemen. HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs also met with Yemeni Interior Minister Dr. Abdul Qader Qahtan and discussed with him a number of issues related to the promotion of cooperation and coordination between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Yemeni Interior Minister praised Qatar's support for Yemen in various development sectors in Yemen, stressing Yemen's keenness on strengthening bilateral cooperation with Qatar. He expressed the hope that bilateral ties would witness further development.

For his part, HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah stressed Qatar's keenness to continue to support the development sectors in Yemen, noting the importance of enhancing mutual cooperation between the two countries. Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and his accompanying delegation arrived in Sana'a earlier in the day on a visit to Yemen.
