Suez Canal Authority Chief Mohab Mamish said that 68 vessels carrying 4.8 million tons of goods transited the Suez Canal waterway, scoring the highest daily traffic since its inauguration 114 years ago on November 17, 1869.
The world's largest container ship that transited the waterway on Friday was the Danish Maersk Mc-Kinney and was carrying around 194,800 tons, Mamish said. |
