Foreign Minister Jamal al-Salal met separately with Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sabah Khaled al-Sabah and Qatar's Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohammed al-Rumaihi.
During their meeting, al-Salal briefed the Kuwaiti and Qatari officials on the developments of the political scene in Yemen and efforts exerted by President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi to achieve more consensus among all political forces to complete the remaining stages of the political settlement based on the Gulf-brokered deal. The meeting, which came at the end of the 142nd Regular Session at the Arab foreign ministerial level, the Kuwaiti and Qatari officials expressed their countries' fully support to Yemen and the President's efforts to complete the transitional stage to maintain Yemen's security, stability and unity. In return, al-Salal hailed the Kuwaiti and Qatari continuous support to Yemen and the political settlement and efforts made by the GCC countries to complete the rest of the political settlement based on the GCC-brokered deal. On the other hand, Foreign Minister Jamal al-Salal met with Prime Minister of New Zealand John Key. During the meeting, al-Salal and Key discussed joint cooperation in international forums on the issues of common interest, hoping Yemen's support to New Zealand to get a non-permanent seat at the UN Security Council. |
