Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed on 30/9/2014 a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a power station.
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and several ministers attended the signing ceremony. The deal was inked by the Egyptian Electric Holding Company and UAE's Al-Nowais Investment Company. The project will be established in South Sinai governorate and will provide 1,320 megawatts in its first phase, according to Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker. He underlined that the station will create more job opportunities for Sinai residents. |
