The Transport Ministry in Egypt is working on an ambitious plan to upgrade transport services, Transport Minister Hani Dahi said on 22/10/2014.
This plan will sure contribute to development projects in the country, the Transport Minister told his Arab counterparts, currently convening their 27th session in Cairo. One such project is the doubling of the Suez Canal waterway to accommodate more ships, and turning it into an international logistics hub, Dahi said. He also touched upon a project to establish a national roads grid by introducing alternative routes, stressing this will help reduce the cost and time of transport trips. Dahi said his Ministry is also acting to upgrade a number of ports. The refurbished Hurghada Port will be inaugurated in 10 days, the minister added. |
