The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry initiative Tejar Dubai organised a workshop on setting up IT business for aspiring UAE entrepreneurs at the Chamber premises recently.
The first training session, conducted by Raed Hafez, Managing Partner, Nuummite Consulting, Magnus Olsen, Managing Partner, Creem Company, and Farah Al Qaissieh, CEO and Founder, Discover Dhabi, was attended by over 35 participants of the Tejar Dubai Emirati entrepreneur development programme. The speakers provided in-depth information to Tejar Dubai candidates about starting their own business in the IT sector while providing success stories and sharing experiences and advice on setting up and funding a start-up business. Welcoming the participants, Mr. Essa Al Zaabi, Senior Vice-President, Institutional Support Sector, Dubai Chamber, and General Coordinator of Tejar Dubai, stated that these informative workshops not only provide first-hand information and experience of setting up a business to upcoming Emirati entrepreneurs but also encourages them to make a marked decision in choosing a lucrative business line for themselves. Mr. Al Zaabi called upon the participants to benefit from the workshop which focused on business opportunities in the IT sector and urged them to ask questions and seek guidance from the experts related to starting and funding of an IT business. He also informed them about the recent launch of a world-class boxing club by two Emiratis, as well as the other 10 upcoming projects by participants of the programme whose main objective is to train and help young Emiratis to realise their dreams of entering the world of entrepreneurship. The Tejar Dubai initiative which was launched by Dubai Chamber last year is the first in the UAE to offer a specialised programme and platform for youth to help them establish their own small-to-medium-sized businesses. With its commitment to the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, which emphasises that entrepreneurship is the shortest way to a bright future, the training programme aims to find and train creative and commercially-minded youth to help them turn their business ideas into a reality. Under its three key pillars of assess, assist and attain, the Tejar Dubai initiative provides youth with access to an extensive development programme, including classroom learning, on-site training, mentoring and business advice, as well as networking opportunities with local and international business leaders and access to investment capital. |
