Russian Ambassador in Cairo Sergei Bachenko thanked the Egyptian leadership and people for rendering Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Cairo a success.
At a press conference on 12/02/2015, Bachenko said that the visit succeeded because of the friendship and respect binding President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Russian President. Their frequent get-togethers affirm the Egyptian-Russian relationship is proceeding on the right track, Bachenko added. The Russian diplomat said a number of agreements were signed by the Egyptian and Russian sides during Putin's visit to Egypt, foremost among which was an agreement to set up a nuclear plant in Dabaa. He said the agreement needs more time to be studied and implemented, but the first step on the nuclear plant road was taken during the visit, he said. Bachenko noted that Russia will take part in the economic conference Egypt will hold in Sharm el-Sheikh in March. A high-level delegation will take part in the event, he added. |
