Egypt signed on 15/3/2015 two memorandums of understanding with two international consortiums for solar power generation.
The move came on the sidelines of Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC) that kicked off in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh and will wrap up later. The agreements are meant to generate up to 5,000 megawatt of solar energy. The first memorandum was signed with SKYPOWER and Gulf Development Companies to establish a power plant generating 3,000 megawatts. The second pact was signed with Tera Nix and Terra Sola consortium to establish a power plant that generates 2,000 megawatts. |
