Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish said the New Suez Canal planned to open on 8/6/2015 is a first step towards development.
Mamish added the work in the Suez Canal Corridor Development project will start in the following day of the opening of the new waterway in line with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's directives. Mamish thanked all those who contributed to accomplishing the mega project in a record time. He lauded President Sisi who took the decision to dig the waterway, the efforts of the Armed Forces' Engineering Authority and all the workers at the site of the project. He described the new canal as a miracle as certified by senior navigation experts in the world. Egypt will inaugurate the new waterway on Thursday, which will massively increase the capacity of the existing canal and offer an important opportunity to boost the country’s struggling economy. |
