Government revenues have risen 34.5% in July and August, the first two months of the new fiscal year, compared to last year.
The revenues increased by EGP 11.9 billion in the two months to record EGP 46.3 billion, the highest growth rate of public revenues in the two specific months of the three past years, the Finance Ministry said in a statement. Income taxes grew 20.1% to EGP 9.4 billion in the two months, it added. The ministry noted that tax revenues rose by around eight billion pounds in July and August to hit EGP 36 billion, compared to EGP 27.9 in same period last year. |
