Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi gave the green light to use solar energy in operating groundwater wells.
The first state-owned well, operated by remotely-controlled solar power, was opened in Toshka. It is scheduled to open another 50 wells in Toshka by the end of this year. Production capacity of the well stands between 800-1,000 cubic meters. |
