The United Arab Emirates signed an open skies agreement with the Government of the Slovak Republic.
Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), and Dusan Hornyak, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovakia to the UAE, inked the agreement in the presence of Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and GCAA Chairman. Al Suwaidi said today's agreement would serve both signatories and accommodate expected expansion by the UAE’s national carriers in movement of passengers and cargo. The agreement, he added, would spur growth in many sectors including trade and tourism. The agreement allows unrestricted frequencies, capacity and types of aircraft, whether owned or leased, to be operated by the Designated Airlines of each country in any type of service (passenger or cargo) on the routes between the Slovak Republic and the UAE. The GCAA has so far signed 168 air service agreements of which 122 were open skies. |
