Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh held talks with Oman's Minister of Oil and Gas Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Rumhi to discuss the possibility of exporting Iranian gas through Oman.

Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Export Company (NIGEC) Alireza Kameli said last night that Oman, which has the status of Observer Member in The Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), discussed with Iran the use of LNG equipment.

Kameli noted that the talks also focused on studying a project to export Iranian gas via Oman's sea and land, adding that "Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) is now studying Iran-Oman gas pipeline project".

Based on a 2013-agreement between the two countries, Iran will export 28 million cubic meters of gas to Oman via an underwater pipeline in the Arabian Gulf.
