Al-Zour North Power is the dawn of partnership projects between the public and private sector in Kuwait, an official said on Monday. In an interview with Al-Anbaa Arabic daily published ,Director General of the Public Authority for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Projects Adel Al-Roumi said that to the Al-Zour plant is the top achievement of the authority.
The project will be offered to Kuwaitis for subscription, as the biggest public offering in the history of the country: the company's paid-up capital hits KD 120 million, 50 percent of which for citizens. He added that the rest will be distributed between a strategic investor and government bodies. Al-Roumi pointed out that the project consists of five stages, in each a private company will be offered for producing electricity. Citizens will be offered 50 percent of each company's shares. They also form good investment opportunities for companies and banks. |
