The Dubai World Trade Centre, DWTC, is going to host 22 major trade events, attracting about 300,000 visitors, during March.
The events serve various key sectors, including telecommunications and information technology, health care, marine and recreational navigation, promoting Dubai as a global destination for both business and entertainment. The first event is the 24th Dubai International Boat Show, which is the most prestigious marine recreational event in the region. It opened yesterday and runs until March 5th at the Dubai International Marine Club. The exhibition attracts 800 exhibitors from 55 countries and nearly 28,000 visitors from more than 120 countries and it has evolved to become a key pillar within the agenda of Dubai's activities. Ahmed Alkhaja, Senior Vice President at DWTC, stressed that the centre sought to promote Dubai's stature as an attractive city for business from across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, MEASA, pointing out that the activities of the center have achieved annual growth, illustrating the importance of exhibitions and opportunities offered by them. New halls will see the hosting of leading exhibitions simultaneously from 1st to 3rd of March, the Middle East Electricity Exhibition, Paperworld Middle East Exhibition, Exhibition of Gaming World in the Middle East and GESS – Global Educational Supplies and Solutions Exhibition 2016, which are expected to attract nearly 38,000 visitors and more than 2,800 exhibitors. Following these events is the largest Medial East and Africa Broadcast, digital Media and Satellite Exhibition, CABSAT, on 8th and 9th of March. CABSAT is the leading platform for the broadcast, production, content delivery, digital media and satellite sectors across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia and will attract professionals from across the entire region. From 17th to 15th of March, Dubai World Trade Centre will host the Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition, DUPHAT, and the Exhibition of Arab Laboratories from 20th to 23rd of March, in order to meet the growing demand for health care. The events focus on spending on the Health Care Sector in the Middle East and North Africa Region, which is expected to reach US$144 billion by 2020 as a result of the massive development witnessed by the sector over the past decade. GITEX Shopper, the famous spring session, will be at the end of the month along with Shopper Smart Living, which takes place from March 30th to April 2nd. Last year's event attracted about 125,000 visitors from buyers, who spent around AED100 million to buy the latest electronic devices. |
