Engineer Sherif Ismail, chairman of the Council of Ministers, met Dr. Hafez Ghanem, the World Bank vice president for the Middle East and North Africa. Dr. Sahar Nasr, minister of international cooperation attended the meeting.
During the meeting, engineer Sherif Ismail stressed on the importance of the current cooperation between Egypt and the World Bank to proceed in the implementation of the many development projects and service installations in the forefront of the sectors of health, housing and sanitation, expressing the aspiration to proceed as soon as possible in the implementation of all areas of the proposed cooperation between the two sides. Ambassador Hussam Alkawesh, spokesman for the Council of Ministers, stated that engineer Sherif Ismail pointed to the adoption of the Government and Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) many bold measures aimed at achieving economic and financial reform desired, explaining that he will be responsible for the presentation of the program of the Government to the parliament, which includes the implementation of a number of giant projects in the areas in which aimed at stimulating economic growth and access to the positive rates required. For his part, Dr. Hafez Ghanem, stated that the world bank will take serious steps taken by the Egyptian government in the framework of the economic reform and the implementation of development projects, stressing that the World Bank provide all support for the implementation of the government and its development, and confirming their commitment to take the necessary action to implement the concessional financing agreed between the two sides. |
