 Prime Minister Sherif Ismail discusses with Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Aati a plan to improve the efficiency of the network of canals and sewage and measures to remove encroachments on the River Nile.
This came during a meeting held between Ismail and Abdel Aati as they probed the strategic vision to meet the country's needs of water through recycling agricultural and sewage water, desalinating sea water as well as decreasing water consumption. Also, they touched on the New Assiut Barrage project that is expected to be opened in September 2017. Furthermore, the premier approved to allocate EGP 300 millions to set up a raft of dams as of July to protect agriculture lands and property against torrents. The premier and the minister agreed to stop exporting rice finally. |
