International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr met the European Union (EU) Ambassador in Cairo James Moran to discuss the current financial cooperation portfolio.
The portfolio includes programs to support the sectors of water, health and energy with grants of 370 million euros and in coordination with the ministries concerned. During the gathering, Nasr called for boosting bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the EU to be consistent with the current government program drawn up to establish development projects and provide job opportunities for youths. Also, the two officials touched on the future portfolio with the EU in addition to deals expected to be signed with the EU before the end of the year, including a project on the overall economic development and another to revamp slums. The government is looking forward to the continued support by the EU to help Egypt to go ahead with implementing plans of economic development, she added. For his part, Moran asserted that the EU is keen on providing all forms of support for all development projects in Egypt. |
