Minister of Trade and Industry Tareq Qabil and Minister of Investment Dalia Khourshid have signed in Beijing an agreement with the Chinese minister of reform and development and the deputy Chinese trade minister to study and implement 18 projects in the fields of electricity, transport, housing, industry and communications through Chinese financing.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Trade and Industry said the signing took place during a meeting of the Egyptian-Chinese joint committee in the Chinese capital in the presence of Egypt's Ambassador Magdy Amer. Minister Qabil said the agreement highlights the depth of Egyptian-Chinese relations and the importance of the joint projects in various domains. The meetings with the Chinese officials dealt with an anticipated visit to China by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in September upon an invitation from the Chinese president to attend the G-8 Summit, said the minister. For her part, Khoushid said the agreement paves the way for attracting more investments from China, pointing out that China responded to Egypt's requests on outlining the priority of the projects which will create more job opportunities. |
