 Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said his government works to provide funding for development projects of dangerous slums home to 850,000 people.
During a visit to the Housing Minister, the premier called for moving forward in the implementation of social housing projects that provide suitable housing units for youth and low-income citizens. For his part, Minister Mostafa Madbouli said 33 projects were launched to develop slums, providing 63,000 housing units at an estimated cost of EGP 9.2 billion. The premier said service projects represent a top priority in the government's program. The Housing Ministry is implementing projects with investments amounting to EGP 110 billion in 2016/2017, he added. The premier and the housing minister also reviewed designs for the government headquarters to be built in the new administrative capital, as well as ongoing steps to start implementation of housing projects and utility connections. |
