President Abdel Fattah El Sisi followed up the progress in a project to reclaim and develop 1.5 million feddans.
This came during the president’s meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, the ministers of agriculture and investment and Chairman of New Egyptian Reef Company Ater Hanora. During the meeting, the President was briefed on a study on the agriculture sector, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said. He also attended a presentation by Reef Company, which is responsible for reclaiming the 1.5 million feddans. "The goal of the Reef project is to establish a new sustainable urban development community that helps alleviate the overpopulation in the narrow valley and protect the agricultural lands in the Nile Delta and the Nile Valley," Sisi said. He added that the project is not limited to the agriculture as a main activity, but also includes establishing food industries and packaging factories for the Egyptian agriculture product. |
