President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted that the Suez Canal development projects would enhance the African capabilities for manufacturing and exportation, noting that Egypt was working on resuming the project of the road between Cairo and Cape Town that will connect a number of African capitals.
Addressing the fourth working session of the G20 Summit, Sisi pointed out that the New Suez Canal has contributed to pushing forward African trade movement with international markets. Egypt has been and is still a bridge for positive interaction between Africa and the world as well as a main component of joint African economic action, Sisi reiterated. Last year, Egypt hosted a conference for signing an agreement among the three African economic blocks; the Common Market of East and Southern Africa (COMESA), The Southern African Development Community (SADC) and The East African Community (EAC), the biggest trade block in Africa, so as to establish an African free trade area, Sisi noted. |
