 Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Tarek Amer said that foreign investors will be easily able to transfer their profits and capital abroad in the coming period.
Investment and capital inflows and outflows will be easier in the coming period compared to the past, Amer said during his participation in the Egyptian economy: outlook and new opportunities conference, organized by EFG Hermes. The conference was attended by representatives of 27 regional and international funds. Amer said the foreign currency levels have been recovered since floating the Egyptian pound last November. He stressed the importance of assuring investors that they could easily channel their profits via the CBE in the coming period. Seeking a loan from the IMF was meant to boost the confidence in the Egyptian economy and its reforms, Amer said, adding that thhe banking sector had secured inflows of between $7.5 billion and $8 billion since the Central Bank floated the Egyptian pound. |
