 International Cooperation Minister Sahar Nasr received Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in the presence of Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt Helmi Fawzi.
They discussed preparations for the meetings of the sixth session of the Egyptian-Indonesian committee to be held this year under Nasr and Marsudi. Nasr hailed economic cooperation with Indonesia and said the sixth session of the joint committee will boost cooperation between the two nations in various fields. Preparations are being carried out for inking number of agreements to promote bilateral cooperation following a successful visit by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in September 2015 to Jakarta that contributed to pushing forward economic ties. The two sides discussed holding meetings of the bilateral business council on the sidelines of the committee meetings. They also probed establishing Indonesian projects in Egypt to enhance development, commercial and investment cooperation between both sides. Marsudi underlined keenness of the Indonesian side to bolster joint cooperation during the coming phase, adding that the current visit to Egypt comes within the framework of discovering fields of cooperation with Middle East countries topped by Egypt for its major role in the region. |
