The actual expenditures for federal ministries amounted to AED 47,604 million for 2016, according to government statistics.
''The completion ratio for expenditures and revenues was 96 percent and 98 percent respectively,'' said the financial performance report for the implementation of the general budget for federal entities in 2016, issued by the Ministry of Finance ''As per the Federal Law No. (2) for 2016 concerning linking the General Federal Budget and the supplementary budgets of independent entities of 2016, the revenues were estimated at AED 48,557 million, where expenditure was estimated at AED 48,557 million,'' the report indicated. This means, the report noted, the 2016 federal general budget was issued with a balance of revenues and expenses worth AED 48, 557 million. Sector-wise, the report said the allocations for general public services in the 2016 budget was AED 16,064 mn (34 percent of the total budget, public order and safety AED 10,096 mn (21 percent), education AED 6,426 (13 percent), defense AED 6,148 mn (13 percent), health AED 3,849 mn (8 percent), social protection AED 2,979 mn (6 percent), economic affairs AED 969 mn (2 percent), housing and community facilities AED 540 mn (1 percent), environment protection AED 301 mn (1 percent) and entertainment, culture and religion AED 233 mn. The estimated revenues for 26 independent entities for 2016 amounted to AED 14,667 million, where the estimated expenditures amounted to AED 14,463 million,'' the report added. Additional allocations were AED 819 mn in 2016. ''The MoF is committed to provide analytical financial data for the performance of federal entities according to the best international practices to achieve the highest standards of transparency,'' the report affirmed.. |
